A current, government-issued photo ID is required for all notarizations. Acceptable forms of identification include:

• Driver’s License
• State ID Card
• U.S. Passport
• Military ID
• Permanent Resident Card

The ID must be current (if expired, not more than 3 years before performance of the notarial act), contain a photograph, signature, and physical description or identifying information.

Please have:

• Your unsigned document (unless it’s an acknowledgement)
• Valid government-issued photo ID
• All required pages
• Any required witnesses (if applicable)
• All signers present 

Please do not sign documents requiring a jurat until instructed during the appointment.

No. As a Washington Notary Public, I cannot provide legal advice or explain the legal effect of a document. If you have questions about your document, please contact the attorney or organization that prepared it before your appointment.

Witness fees vary depending on the appointment location, number of witnesses needed, and scheduling availability.

In most cases, a qualified witness should:

• Be at least 18 years old (unless document specifies otherwise)
• Be mentally competent and able to understand what they are witnessing
• Be physically present at the signing
• Have no financial interest in the document, if a disinterested witness is required
• Not be the person whose signature is being notarized

Yes! Mobile notary services are available for hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospice locations throughout Snohomish County and surrounding areas.

Yes! If your document qualifies for remote notarization under Washington law, we can complete your notarization online without meeting in person.

Washington State sets the maximum fee for each notarial act.

Additional fees such as travel, after-hours appointments, witness coordination, parking, tolls, and other mobile service charges are separate and will always be disclosed before your appointment.

There are never surprise charges.

Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled at no charge with reasonable notice.

If I have already traveled to the appointment location or incurred non-refundable expenses such as parking or tolls, those costs may still apply.

Your personal information is used only to complete your requested notarial service and to comply with Washington State recordkeeping requirements. 

Your information is never sold or shared except as required by law.

Please be ready at your scheduled appointment time. 

A complimentary 15-minute grace period is included.

If additional waiting time is required, additional fees may apply or the appointment may need to be rescheduled.

Washington law requires notaries to refuse notarization in certain situations.

I may decline a notarization if:

• Proper identification cannot be provided.
• The signer is unwilling or appears to be under duress.
• The signer does not appear aware of what they are signing.
• The document is incomplete in a way that would make notarization improper.
• The notarization requested is prohibited by Washington law.

If a notarization cannot be completed after I have traveled to the appointment, agreed-upon travel fees may still apply.

If you request that Tala Signature Notary & Signing arrange witness(es), witness fees will be quoted in advance and are subject to availability. 

Facility employees (such as hospital or nursing home staff) cannot be expected to serve as witnesses.
